Back to school days at PPE are as sweet as they can be!
Welcome back returning Owl families, teachers and staff! To our Kindergarten students and new families: We are thrilled you landed in our Owl nest at Plantation Park Elementary!!
Plantation Park Elementary PTA is a long-standing tradition and an integral part of our school. Every year, we strive to enrich the daily lives of our students, staff and entire school community at PPE.
PTA is proud to host engaging events and activities like Family Fun Night, Field Day, Staff Luncheons, Book Fairs, Yearbook, Holiday Shop, Owl Walk and so much more during the year. We fund educational programs that benefit all of our students. Examples of the programs and materials we provide are, Scholastic Magazines & Digital Subscriptions, Student Agenda Books, Take-Home Wednesday Folders, End of The Year Awards, Classroom Startup Funds, Teacher Book Shopping Sprees and more. Recently, we have added to the beauty and enhancement of our school by adding artist murals around campus and classroom/teacher signs throughout all of our buildings. All of these initiatives are 100% paid by the PTA.
Our PTA Membership Drive starts on Monday, August 19th. We invite and encourage all parents, teachers and staff to join here. PTA Memberships are digital with online payment and registration. Every year, we strive to grow our membership. Being a PTA member doesn’t require volunteer hours, but your generosity with your time is always appreciated. Our success at PPE is based on the contribution and commitment from our school community of parents, teachers and staff. Classrooms with the most PTA memberships will be rewarded with a popcorn party.
Want to volunteer? Our annual Volunteer Orientation Breakfast is on Friday, August 23rd @ 8:15am in the Media Center. We look forward to seeing new and familiar faces on campus. Save the date, but don’t forget – ALL PPE volunteers must submit an online application at Broward Schools to volunteer at school.
Being a PPE volunteer is easy and fun. There are plenty of in-person and at-home volunteer opportunities available. It’s a great way to get involved in your student’s education, meet parents, become more familiar with our administration and so much more. Let us know what your volunteer interests are to receive emails about upcoming events and activities. Fill out our Volunteer Interest Form now.
Our first PTA Meeting will be on Wednesday, September 18th in the Media Center @ 5:30PM. After that, we will host regular bi-monthly PTA meetings to keep our membership up-to-date. We are constantly thinking outside the box in order to bring enrichment support to all of our students and teachers. We are open to hearing your suggestions, and welcome them. Now, more than ever, being involved at Plantation Park Elementary is so important. We look forward to seeing you at the meetings.
Our “Sweet To Be At PPE” Owl Shop Shirts are sold online. We are offering two styles this year in both youth and adult sizes for $12 and $14 each. If you missed the summer online sale, stay tuned for our next online shirt sale. PTA is also offering special edition shirts for sale online via Bonfire and this sale is a fundraiser to “open the vault” of our past years’ most beloved designs in a variety of styles, colors and sizes. A “sweet” selection of this year’s shirts are also available at Bonfire.
PPE is a superhighway of information. There is a lot of news to consume at all times. To stay up-to-date with all news, please join our PTA Facebook page, make sure your contact information is correct and you are opted-in to receive all notifications via ParentLink email, text, or calls.
We hope to always provide you a list of useful PPE website links. We have provided information on how to locate everything online. With these links, you will be able to see the latest news on our Facebook group, purchase PTA memberships, submit a BCPS volunteer application, buy Owl Shop shirts or yearbooks online, access Bonfire shirts and so much more.
As always, it is our responsibility and privilege to serve our school community. We have an amazing community of students, parents, teachers and staff. Contributing and volunteering to the PPE PTA only enhances and strengthens our school family bond. School life is sweet at PPE!
