Dr Osgood Says Welcome Back to School

Greetings Families!

Welcome to the 2020/2021 school year! I hope you are well and were able to make the most of your summer break. I am excited to have new families joining our school and I am equally thrilled to have families returning for another year.

This year’s District-wide reopening of schools is very different from all the others. You have had to adjust schedules and routines in order to create the best possible environment for your child(ren) to prepare for E-Learning. This requires careful planning on your part, and I want you to know that your efforts are recognized, appreciated, and commendable. Our theme this year, “The Most Magical School on Earth!”, is very fitting, because we are committed to ensuring your child(ren) experience a year of academic success, positivity, and support. Our faculty and staff look forward to having your child(ren) join us online on Wednesday, August 19, 2020 at 8:00 AM, the first day of school.

Our Drive-through Meet & Greet will be held on Friday, August 14, 2020, from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM. During this event, your child(ren) will be greeted by his/her teacher, staff, PTA members, and administrators. Additionally, your child(ren) will be given supplies and resources that will help students succeed in an E-Learning environment. You are encouraged to visit our website at https://www.browardschools.com/plantationpark for details regarding our Drive-through Meet & Greet, as there are specific times and locations for each grade level to drive-through and pick-up their supplies.

We will host our Virtual Open House on Friday, August 21, 2020, from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM. As you visit your child’s E-Classroom via an MS Teams invitation, you will see other parents, interact with your child’s teacher, engage in a virtual tour, and learn about your child’s daily academic schedule. Please be sure to accept the MS Teams invitation that you will be receiving from your child’s teacher. The meeting will be recorded by the classroom teacher and forwarded to parents. Additional information is on our website.

It is truly a privilege to be part of a school where parents, teachers, students, and community members care for each other and build on positive relationships that support academic and social growth. We encourage you to join our wonderful PTA, as a large part of our school’s success is due to active parent partnership and engagement. Please visit our website and social media often to stay connected with us, and to get the most current information.

Should you have any questions, please feel free to call our school at 754-323-7150 or email me at Ingrid.osgood@browardschools.com.

Once again, welcome to, “The Most Magical School on Earth!”. Let’s make this another great year!

Sincerely,

Dr. Ingrid Osgood, Principal Plantation Park Elementary School
